AECC Board Member, Chartered Director (SA), Founder of Boardvisory
Joy-Marie is Certified Coach accredited by International Coaching Federation.
She is a Chartered Director, and the Founder of Boardvisory a Board Advisory Firm and has extensive experience as a lawyer, businesswoman and executive Integral coach. Joy-Marie is passionate about the difference executive coaching provides for conscious leadership in governance through acknowledging our humanness in the boardroom.
Joy- Marie has an Executive MBA (cum laude), UCT Graduate School of Business), a Masters of Law (LLM) in Outer Space, Broadcasting, Telecommunications (WITS), an Advanced Programme for Private Equity (GIBS), Diploma in Integral Practitioner Coaching, a Bachelors of Law (LLB) (UCT) and BA (UCT). Joy-Marie is also an accredited integrative Enneagram practitioner. She has been a fellow of the Institute of Directors of South Africa since 2009.
With more than 23 years’ experience, she completed her legal articles at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg. Her corporate work experience includes the Telecommunications sector (MTN Group), Media & Broadcasting (SA Broadcasting Corporation) and the IT sector (Business Connexion) with her last corporate role as Group Executive for EOH in Cape Town. Joy-Marie also currently serves as a mentor, facilitator and keynote speaker.
Joy-Marie’s experience as a Non-Executive Director and Chairperson of boards spans the investment, science and technology, legal, education and health sectors. Her current directorships include: non-executive director of WDB Investment Holdings; Advisory Board member of the UCT Graduate School of Business Advisory Board; Trustee of the Legal Resource Centre Trust; and Non-executive director of TEKANO. She was previously one of the founding Board members and subsequently the Chair of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) an entity of the South African Department of Science and Technology.
At AECC, Joy-Marie serves a Board committee member in the Partnership & Stakeholder Committee as well as the Branding, Communications and Events Committee.
